What does a Psychotic, Demon possessed, Sociopath have to do with a 154 year old Confederate Flag? Answer: Nothing.
Allow me to start off this blog by stating what a tragedy the incident which occurred in Charleston SC, on June 17th 2015 was. Nine good Christians were murdered, and one wounded in Gods house while studying Gods word, by a Satanic driven individual, therefore they weren't just murdered, they were also martyred. I also have to acknowledge the courage and Christian response shown by the victim's families and the congregation itself.
The Watchman in me compels me to respond to the response from the Politicians and Media's efforts to exploit this tragedy and make sure it doesn't go to waste.
Even more alarming to me though, is the amount of the masses of people who are falling for it.
The masses are allowing the Politicians and the Media to take control of the narrative, and change the subject from the evil in the hearts of men, to a 154 year old flag caused this to happen.
There is plenty of culpability to go around, but it has nothing to do with a Confederate flag.
The first culpability is the evil nut-case himself, Dylann Roof. He made the decision that June 17th would be the last day for these Christians to live. He picked the place, the time, and the manner of death for nine people.
The second culpability lies with his close associates who had prior knowledge of his intentions, and failed to report his thoughts and activities. They could have possibly stopped this from happening with the right intervention. In my opinion they also have blood on their hands.
The third culpability is the South Carolina Gun restriction on carrying guns in Churches being illegal without the permission of certain authority members of the church, creating a kill zone for any wacked out nut-case like Roof who probably knew he would not be met with any armed resistance because of the law. You notice he did not show any resistance to the armed Police Officers in NC who apprehended him.
The easiest way for the SC Governor to handle this, was to find a straw man, in this case the Confederate flag, to put the attention on instead of the SC gun restrictions, and failed Mental Health System.
Taking down the Confederate flag is nothing but an act of symbolism which will not bring back nine murdered people, or prevent future incidents of this nature from happening.
Blaming the Confederate flag is counter productive in that now instead of having a grieving community who needs a chance to heal, and up to this point have handled it in a very responsible and Christian way, setting a shining example for the people of Charleston, you now have an uproar from people who view the Confederate flag as a symbol of Southern heritage whether one agrees with it or not. This has paved the way for the race-baiters to move in and exploit the victims and the people of Charleston.
The Race-Baiters and Politicians are ready to move in on this tragedy for their own benefit. People I urge you to not give them what they want.
